Budgeting is no easy task. it requires you to systematically plan out what to do with your money so you know where every dollar is going. A good plan is the first step in realistic budgeting. Whenever you have to make purchases, make sure before you ever step foot in the store you know exactly what you are going for and how much it is going to cost. If you go to the grocery store and you do not know what meals you want to make for the week, there is a strong chance you will pick up a bunch of stuff that is not essential for that trip and probably waste some time and money. It may even help you to pull the cash out of the ATM so that you know you are only going to spend exactly whats on your list and stay within budget. If you are serious about being consistent with the way you spend money, you are going to have to try new things in order to make sure your plan works.

Don’t fall a victim to all of the items on “sale” because in most cases they are not things you would normally consider purchasing but you try yo justify it because its on sale. Although Im a big fan of spending less for something than you have to, I’m a bigger fan of sticking to your weekly and monthly budgets. Once you really get the hang of staying within a budget, then you can get creative and try and plan your shopping trips around when certain sales are happening that month for things that you need. We will stick to the basics for now though. Im still trying to learn the ropes of extreme couponing myself.
